April 2025BU Questrom Team Wins Impact Award
A Boston University team won a coveted $25,000 investment prize, the Audience Choice award, and was a Finalist for the Impact Analysis award at the recent prestigious 14th annual Turner MIINT competition (MBA Impact Investing Network & Training). CairnPath's William Woo served as faculty advisor to the winning BU team, which competed against 29 leading global MBA programs at The Wharton School. Their chosen investment candidate, TurnSignl, an existing investment of non sibi ventures represented a compelling impact and business case to the judges and audience - the company provides affordable emergency legal services regarding wrongful profiling during traffic stops and immigration. The MIINT competition, organized by the Bridges Impact Foundation US and Wharton Impact, features sponsorship from the Bobby Turner and the Moelis Family.
October 2024ESG Panel: Meeting Future Challenges
CairnPath hosted and co-sponsored an engaging panel, "Can Financial Investments Meet Environmental and Social Challenges?" featuring leaders from Blue Haven Initiative, Columbia's Climate School, and Harvard's Salata Institute. William Woo, a Professor at Boston University and CairnPath Managing Principal, co-moderated the panel at the University Club of Boston. The discussion covered a range of topics from political backlash, investment returns, impact metrics, innovation, and research. Each panelist shared their organization's latest work priorities and specific goals. The Columbia Alumni Association of Boston co-sponsored the event.
April 2024CairnPath joins as VC Impact Advisor
CairnPath announces that William Woo has joined the Advisors team at non sibi ventures. Woo will be focused on Social and Environmental Impact Investing Strategy and Measurement for the portfolio companies and fund. non sibi is a venture capital firm with a mission to invest in leading technology companies led by underrepresented founders targeting underserved markets. CairnPath will work with the non sibi co-founders and portfolio company entrepreneurs.
